Exhibition display-grade …
When you’re not wearing your Pip-Boy you’ll want to be displaying this thing of utter beauty with pride in your display cabinet, on your desk at work or beside your bed on your nightstand. To do that you’ll use the lovely stand that comes with this Pip-Boy 3000.
The stand has been designed to follow the lines of the Pip-Boy, the hard rubber claw slipping satisfyingly into the four slots on the Pip-Boy lower front. Manufactured from a 4 mm slab of solid aluminium, the exhibition display-grade stand looks the part yet will hold your Pip-Boy securely in position wherever you like to show it off, when it’s not on your arm, of course. The stand is also a great place to store your RobCo hex tool when it isn’t being used to secure the spacer bar that extends the cuff diameter.
When the Pip-Boy is charging, the four slots glow gorgeously, illuminating the stand and indicating the charge state by gently pulsing or shining steadily.

… and yet highly functional
As well as having a large clock with an alarm function and an ultra-dim night mode, the Pip-Boy 3000 comes with an LED torch function to illuminate those very darkest corners of the wasteland where you live. (Caution: looking directly at the bright torch LED is not advised.)
If you don’t want to wake the neighbours or alert any sleeping beasts to your presence, you can also use the headphone socket to play the Pip-Boy’s audio just for your own private enjoyment.

Frequently-asked questions
Look down this list of frequently-asked questions to find answers that will help you if you are thinking of buying a Pip-Boy 3000 and want to learn more about how it works and what is included in the pack.
Is the Pip-Boy 3000 accurate?
Yes. We designed the Pip-Boy 3000 for manufacture in the real world using the high-poly reference geometry from the designs created for Fallout 3 (and re-used in Fallout New Vegas) … we believe that it is true to the original and in-game design. However, we have added some essential features that are not present in the game version.
For a start, the game version does not have a hinge and a clasp. As you may occasionally need to remove your Pip-Boy from your arm, we felt that a hinge and a clasp were essential to the real-world design.
From time to time you will need to charge your Pip-Boy’s lithium polymer power cell because the technology for arm-worn nuclear-powered devices has not yet been developed. As a result, we have added a USB-C socket to the back of the Pip-Boy.
While we were tinkering with the back design, we also added a rather useful LED torch and a 3.5 mm headphone socket.
What is included in the pack?
The Pip-Boy 3000 comes in its own specially designed protective transport crate and is supplied with a data-capable USB-C charging and upgrade cable, a spacer bar for increasing the cuff circumference, a RobCo hex tool for attaching the spacer bar, and an external FM radio antenna wire.
Will I need to upgrade my Pip-Boy 3000?
Your Pip-Boy 3000 will come installed with all the software you need to start using it right away. However, periodically there may be upgrades to your Pip-Boy that will add new features and functionality. Please go to www.thewandcompany.com/pip-boy to check for the latest update. The Pip-Boy must be connected to a computer via a web browser that supports Web Serial such as Chrome, Edge or Opera.
Your Pip-Boy is upgraded via a USB connection. To upgrade, plug a data-capable USB-C cable into the USB-C socket on the back of the Pip-Boy. It is recommended that you upgrade the Pip-Boy while sitting securely on its stand.

How do I reset my Pip-Boy 3000?
In the event that your Pip-Boy becomes unresponsive and needs resetting, your Pip-Boy can be reset by pressing the STATS and DATA buttons for 1 second, holding the Power button for 10 seconds, or by using a paperclip or SIM tool to press the reset button hidden under the front cuff.
To access the hidden reset button:
* Remove the padded cuff from the screen side of the Pip-Boy
* Near to the battery door screw, you’ll see a small hole
* Poke a mobile phone SIM card removal tool into the hole until you feel it click
* Just a short click press of the reset button is enough – the Pip-Boy should then spring back into life within a few seconds.

Can I leave it plugged into the power constantly?
Yes, you can leave it plugged into the power constantly. When the Pip-Boy is plugged into the power the power runs the Pip-Boy and charges the battery at the same time. When the battery is fully charged, it stops charging the battery, and as the Pip-Boy is running on the external power supply, the battery only slowly loses power just by a trickle of self-discharge. This process takes a long time. Eventually, when the battery discharges to a certain level, it will start charging again until it is full, and the cycle repeats. The battery also has a built-in thermal cutout, which means the battery cannot overheat. So, short answer, yes it is perfectly ok and safe to leave the Pip-Boy plugged in as it will not see significant cycles.
Will my Pip-Boy screen burn in if I leave it showing the same screen the whole time?
No, we are pretty sure that it won’t and so it should be fine to leave it displaying the clock, or any other screen, all the time. The software engineers responsible for the Pip-Boy’s firmware development have had a couple of Pip-Boys with the screen left on for most of the last few months and we haven’t noticed any burn-in or ghosting at all.
Of course, we don’t actually know absolutely 100% that it’s not an issue, but we definitely haven’t noticed any sign of it (yet).
What is the Pip-Boy 3000 made from?
The Pip-Boy 3000 is made from an authentic blend of materials. The front portion of the device is made from die-cast metal, the rear of the front half, and the back of the Pip-Boy is made from an engineering plastic called ABS, known for its strength and high fidelity. The cuff is moulded in memory foam, for comfort and in order to fit the widest number of different arm types.
The stand is made from predominantly aluminium, with some ABS fittings, and has a soft EVA rubber pad on the bottom.
How big is the Pip-Boy and its Display Stand?
The Pip-Boy 3000 is accurately modelled on the geometry as seen in the video games Fallout 3 and Fallout New Vegas. The Pip-Boy 3000 is 140 x 175 x 130 mm (5.5″ x 6.9″ x 5″). The Display Stand is 100 x 100 x 55 mm (4″ x 4″ x 2″). When the Pip-Boy is docked into the stand, the combined height of the Pip-Boy and Display Stand is 150 mm (6″).
What is the Pip-Boy Display Stand made from?
The majority of the Display Stand is made from a single 4 mm thick sheet of aluminium that has been machined into the required shape before being laser etched with the Vault-Tec logo and finished with the hard rubber claw that mates into the four illuminated recesses on the lower part of front of the Pip-Boy housing. It has a soft rubber EVA pad on the underside of its base.
What is the maximum wrist/forearm diameter the Pip-Boy can accommodate?
Pip-Boy’s internal foam cuff geometry is tapered. The maximum arm accommodation sizes are:
With foam, wrist end: approx 200mm (7.9 inches) circumference
With foam, forearm: approx 260mm (10.3 inches) circumference
The Pip-Boy foam can be removed to provide more room for someone who wants to wear it over their Vault Suit cuff, or other jacket or shirt cuffs. The Pip-Boy may be worn on the arm with no cuff, however, if the Pip-Boy is worn on a bare arm with no cuff it will certainly not be as comfortable as it is with the cuff installed. Although it is not recommended, removing the cuff will accommodate larger arms.
Without foam, wrist end: approx 265mm (8.3 inches) circumference
Without foam, forearm: approx 300mm (11.8 inches) circumference
The Pip-Boy 3000 also comes with a cuff extender bar. This can be securely fitted to the cuff housing to provide an extra 22 mm (0.9 inches) circumference.
What kind of screen does it have?
A 4″ full-colour in-plane switching (IPS) LCD screen that enables the display in a range of monochrome colours. The default colours are green and amber, replicating the Fallout 3 and Fallout New Vegas screen colours. The colour may be adjusted to any other colour, as suits your own individual preference.
What is the best way to display my Pip-Boy 3000?
That’s up to you, and it depends on a number of things:
Do you have one or more arms?
If so, then the ideal place to display your Pip-Boy 3000 is on your arm. It has a clock inside it which allows it to display the time moderately accurately on the screen in a totally in-universe way at all times just with the press of a button, which makes it one of the largest wrist watches ever made.
Do you have a desktop, a display cabinet or nightstand?
Well, you don’t have to look much further. This is not only an exhibition-display-grade collectible but also a functioning FM radio and a static timepiece (i.e. a clock) with an alarm function; so display it wherever you want, using its beautiful aluminium stand.
Are batteries included?
Yes. The Pip-Boy 3000 uses an internal Lithium Polymer power cell that is charged using a USB-C cable (supplied), via a 5V power supply.
Does the top of the Pip-Boy open to insert a holotape?
No, this Pip-Boy does not have a working holotape player.
It does however have a playable version of the holotape minigame, Atomic Command. Find it by going to ITEMS > Misc > Atomic Command.
Does the Pip-Boy 3000 have a flashlight function?
Yes, the Pip-Boy 3000 has a bright LED on the back of the Pip-Boy housing that can be illuminated by long pressing the ITEMS (middle) button for three seconds. Caution: the LED is bright and you should not look directly at it. The torch can be turned off by long-pressing the ITEMS button again.

What is the 3.5 mm socket on the back of the Pip-Boy for?
The socket is a headphone socket. In areas where the FM radio signal is weak, you can plug in the FM radio external antenna (supplied) to increase the performance of the radio reception. Alternatively plug in your own headphones which will also act as an external antenna while you listen to the Pip-Boy audio through them.
